Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Waste management is a growing concern in many parts of Nigeria, including Lafia East LGA in Nasarawa State, where improper waste disposal and environmental pollution are common issues. Advertising has been recognized as an effective tool in influencing public behavior and promoting social change. In the context of waste management, advertising campaigns can raise awareness about the importance of proper waste disposal, recycling, and environmental sustainability. According to Okoye and Nwankwo (2023), advertising can shape public attitudes by educating citizens about the consequences of poor waste management and the benefits of adopting environmentally friendly practices. 1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the growing awareness of waste management issues in Lafia East LGA, improper waste disposal continues to be a major problem.
